In the TikTok era, pretty much every topic has the potential to go viral — including wedding planning. Take, for example, the woman who sewed her own wedding dress on the subway. Or, the notorious case of the bride who outlined a contract for her bridal party, complete with “optional” and “mandatory” duties. Another bride got attention for posting how she tried to keep her budget tight by using silk flowers and serving Krispy Kreme doughnuts instead of cake. The hashtag #wedding was even trending on TikTok as people posted funny and controversial things they said they’d want to make a rule at their wedding; things like “every [guest] must recite one Nicki Minaj verse” and “no random plus-ones.”
